Grain is the bread of life, the foundation for all of our means. Wine is a connection point. We may have twisted the idea of wine to be getting drunk, but wine was first used to celebrate and connect. Oil can make better what we already have.

You cannot earn the anointing. The anointing needs to be worked and exercised constantly. Elisha was willing, reckless, and he was a witness. To be effective in the Kingdom of God, we have to be willing, reckless, and witnesses.

Before we step into the new, we have to prepare ourselves. This means surrendering the old, see the new, stay on the right path that God has laid out for us, and swim in the river. Don't just walk around ankle deep, but jump in!

"Gratitude is riches, complaint is poverty" - Doris Day. We need to maintain a thankful posture. A thankful mindset can be an antidote to so many things in our life. If we are thankful, the enemy doesn't have an opportunity to get into our minds and distract us.

Jesus' birth isn't something we should only think about during the Christmas season. The truths contained in the message, apply to every season of our lives. What God has started no man can stop. Great things are often born in faith, and the least likely of circumstances. God uses us to spread His good news in to all the world. And that often starts with our neighbours.

If hope is confident expectation, what happens when our confidence and expectations are taken from us? We need to remember that we have Jesus. There is a position in the kingdom of God for each one of us. When we take hold of that, He pulls us out of any position we find ourselves in, and sits us as if we're with Him in heaven.
